A California-based organization, Recycle4Charity offers three donation programs that promote remanufacturing and reuse of printer cartridges and supplies as well as cell phones. The first opportunity is the no-cash-back donation program, which caters to all individuals, businesses, and government entities. It is a free recycling service that collects empty inkjet cartridges, laser toner, and cell phones. There are no brand stipulations and a percentage of the proceeds raised from the recycled products are donated to a Recycle4Charity-supported non-profit. Because the program collects in-kind donations, no tax receipt is provided as the items are not tax deductible.
The second option is the fundraising program. Geared toward larger businesses and public institutions like schools, the program requires more than 20 items to be collected per month. The funds raised will be donated back to the entity that made the contribution or to a charity that is not supported under the traditional donation program.
The fundraising program for schools is strictly for all private and public schools and universities. Printer supplies donated by an institution will earn money that can be used by the school or university to fund volunteer programs, purchase equipment, and support any other educational initiatives.
